Þórunn joins Fossar from the international consulting firm Compass Lexecon in Madrid. Prior to that, she worked in the economics department at the Central Bank of Iceland.
Since 2022, she has been a member of the Icelandic Fiscal Council. Þórunn was an assistant teacher in mathematics at the University of Iceland and currently teaches macroeconomics at the University of Reykjavik.
She holds a master’s degree in economics from the Barcelona School of Economics, specializing in macroeconomic policy and financial markets. She also completed the master 1 economics program at the Toulouse School of Economics and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Iceland, having spent one year studying at the University of Copenhagen.
