Fossar Markets are setting up an office in London early next year.
“We have been working towards setting up operations in London,” says Haraldur Þórðarson, CEO of Fossar Markets. He says the London office is intended to strengthen services to Fossar’s Icelandic customers looking for opportunities abroad.
“Equally, our goal is to make it easier for our customers abroad to make direct investments in Iceland. We have put emphasis on increasing our services outside of Iceland,” Haraldur says.
“The steps that have been taken to further lift capital controls in Iceland bring, in our opinion, great opportunities that we believe can benefit our customers.” Haraldur points out that after the banking collapse of 2008 Fossar were the first financial firm in Iceland to offer specialized services for foreign markets. In addition, Fossar offer multi-asset online trading, through their partnership with Saxo, with access to over 50 exchanges and over 100 markets globally.
Fossar’s London office will be in Mayfair, operating under the name Fossar Markets Ltd.
