Fossar Markets Ltd. has received an independent operating license by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to provide financial services in the UK.
Fossar Markets Ltd. is a UK based group company of the Icelandic securities firm Fossar Markets. Appointed in June, David Witzer is the CEO of Fossar Markets’ operations in the UK. Fossar Markets is headquartered in Reykjavik, Iceland with offices in Stockholm and London.
The operating license gives Fossar Markets the opportunity to provide its customers, domestic and foreign, with financial services worldwide. Fossar Markets’ operation in London will enhance the powerful operations that the company has already built in recent years. Among Fossar Markets’ customers are institutional investors, corporates, municipalities and various organizations.
Haraldur Thordarson, CEO of Fossar Markets:
“We are proud to receive an independent operating license from the FCA. We have been preparing our operations in the UK for some time and are looking forward to further strengthening our business in the coming months. With increased liberalization of capital movements to and from Iceland, our domestic customers’ market environment has become global and we are now better equipped to service them on the international stage. Furthermore, we will provide our foreign customers with more extensive services, across geographies and products, than we have done so far.”
